Founded in 1935, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GXAAS) now is a comprehensive provincial agricultural research institution under the direct leadership of Guangxi Government. GXAAS is based along Xiangsi Lake in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi. GXAAS, covering a total area of 400 hectares, has five permanent experimental bases in its headquarter, Lijian, Mingyang, Long’an and Hainan. GXAAS consists of 20 research institutes, 100 innovative teams, 12 branches, 60 test stations and 70-plus scientific platforms including national engineering research center, national crop improvement center, provincial key lab and post-doctoral work station. GXAAS employs over 992 staff members, among whom there are 301 senior experts, 115 holding the Ph.D degree and 399 holding the master degree. The applicants’ research field should be related to the respective position.
Requirements
   Applicants should:
I. Obey China’s laws and regulations; have integrity, good personal qualities, professional ethics and team spirit.
II. Have relevant research experiences for over ten years; possess good knowledge of the status quo for both domestic and overseas agricultural research, international vision and high scholarly attainments; be capable of proposing strategic, forward-looking and innovative research plans in related research areas; have made important academic achievements recognized by both domestic and overseas peers; lead the fast development of technology innovation in related research areas; have strong decision-making ability and organizational coordination skills; manage scientific projects well.
III. Hold the Ph.D degree and senior technical title. Overseas applicants should have the experience of teaching or doing research in world-renowned universities, research institutions or the R&D department of famous enterprises and acquire the technical title equivalent to professor.
IV. Fit into one of the following:
Be included inNational Recruitment Program for A Thousand Talents (innovative genre) or have equivalent qualifications.
Have received the title of Distinguished Professor from the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar Program  issued by the Ministry of Education, have won the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, be included in theRecruitment Program for Ten Thousand Talents” or the “Hundred Talent Program” by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, or have equivalent qualifications.
Have been recruited by theGuangxi Bagui Scholar Program or theNational Thousand (Young) Talents Program, or have equivalent qualifications.
Have equivalent qualifications or special achievements.
V. Be in good health and under the age of 50 (no age limit for outstanding applicants).
VI. Be a formal employee at our academy or work full-time for at least five years.
VII. Applicants qualified for management positions can be appointed as research institute director/ deputy director based on relevant procedures. 
Salary and benefits
The “One Person One Policy” rule applies to the leading talents regarding their salary and benefits. For academicians or applicants with equivalent qualifications, salary and benefits are decided through negotiations between the two parties and not confined to the following.
I. Salary: RMB 500,000-1,000,000 Yuan annually
II. Research fund: RMB 5-10 million Yuan during the term of employment
III. Office and laboratory facilities: provided according to the practical need; support research group building, and give priority to lab construction, project application, international communication, staffing and the recruitment of post-doc fellows and graduate students.
IV. Housing: free use of an apartment of about 120-140m2 and this apartment can be fully owned if the selected-applicant can work at GXAAS for over 8 years and it conforms to relevant housing policies.
V. Others: the selected-applicants can enjoy preferential services according to talents-introduction policies implemented by Nanning and Guangxi, and GXAAS will help their spouses to find a job and kids to be admitted to schools. Application of a whole research team is preferable.

III. Fit into one of the following:
Be included in theNational Thousand (Young) Talents Program or have equivalent qualifications.
Have obtained projects ofDistinguished Youth Science Fund by National Natural  Foundation Association.
Have been recruited by theScientific Innovation Leading Talents Program of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology,Guangxi Ten-hundred-thousand Talent Program, the secondary-level talents or have equivalent qualifications.
Have equivalent qualifications or remarkable achievements.
IV. Hold the Ph.D degree and senior professional title. Overseas applicants should have the experience of teaching or doing research in world-renowned universities, research institutions or the R&D department of famous enterprises and acquire the technical title equivalent to professor.
V. Be in good health and under the age of 50. The age of special experts can be relaxed.
VI. Be a formal staff at our academy or work full-time for at least 5 years.
Salary and benefits
The “One Person One Policy” rule also applies to the academic leaders.
I. Salary: annual salary of RMB 200,000-500,000 Yuan. For formal staff, the hired position can be as high as the third technical level. For temporary staff working full-time, they will be paid monthly and social insurance is included.   
II. Research fund: RMB 2-4 million Yuan during the term of employment
III. Office and laboratory facilities: priority will be given to the use of office and laboratory space, research platform building, talent-project application, international communication, research group building and staffing.
 IV. Housing: free use of an apartment of about 120-140and this apartment can be fully owned if the selected-applicant can work at GXAAS for over 8 years and it conforms to relevant housing policies.

Recruitment procedures
Application and recommendation
I. Applicants submit the High-Level Talents Application Form to the Human Resources Department of GXAAS (download the attachment or download it at HR page in GXAAS official website)
II. Supporting documents submission (in the following sequence):
Copies of ID card (passport), academic certificate (foreign academic certificate accompanied by proof document issued by Overseas Service Center of the Ministry of Education), certificate of technical title or letter of employment, documents concerning work experience, awards and honors, grants, publications, patents, projects over the last 5 years, and other supporting materials.
III. 3 Peer recommendation letters
Domestic applicants should submit one hard copy of all materials and send the soft copy in PDF format according to the above-mentioned sequence. Overseas applicants can submit the soft copy via e-mail. 
Interview and evaluation
Candidates should participate in an interview and introduce through PPT presentation his/her basic personal information, research work and achievements, future work plans, personal strengths and weaknesses, and so on.
Background check
GXAAS will conduct background check of the candidates.
Employment
To-be-employed candidates will sign the Employment Contract for a 5-year term for high-Level talent and go through relevant hiring procedures.
